More information

  • Uppers are built with structured, multilayer assemblies engineered for outdoor, lineman, logging, hunting, safety, pac-boot, and work applications. Depending on the requirements, constructions may include reinforcement layers, foams, linings, support components, and external protective elements for high-demand environments.

  • We work with 100% full-grain leather, special-thickness leathers above 3.0 mm, waterproof membranes, advanced insulated materials, synthetics, textiles, foams, linings, and high-strength reinforcement components. Every material is selected for durability, traction, impact resistance, and long-term performance in outdoor, industrial, and cold-weather environments.

  • We begin every project with clarity and alignment. Once you contact us through any of our channels, we send you a Brand Brief to capture your technical, design, and business requirements. After an initial meeting, the project is sent to our internal diagnostic team.

Within 2–3 weeks, you receive a full diagnostic that includes:

    1. Project acceptance — confirming whether we are a good technical and operational fit.

    2. Estimated cost — a preliminary range based on complexity and materials.

    3. Formal project quotation — timeline, scope, and development plan.

This process ensures that both sides begin with the same expectations, technical direction, and feasibility roadmap.

  • Our CAD/CAM-driven cutting process ensures precise, repeatable component output and optimal material usage. Fully digitized upper files support automated scaling, nesting, and controlled batch replication for consistent manufacturing performance.

  • Standardized, reinforced stitching maintains structural integrity in high-wear zones for outdoor, work, safety, and pac-boot applications. Automated sewing programs reduce variability and ensure uniform seam strength across the entire production run.

  • We maintain strict material verification, controlled in-process inspections, and final-batch validation to guarantee repeatable, production-ready results. When required, independent third-party inspectors can perform on-site release before export.

  • Standardized processes and waste-reduction practices ensure quality and material efficiency. All suppliers follow our sustainability program, including mandatory LWG certification for leather partners to guarantee responsible sourcing.

  • Outdoor, hunting, work, and pac-boot uppers follow the same internal rigor and technical standards applied across all Abucombal engineered products, ensuring controlled constructions, repeatable quality, and consistent compliance.

  • Our products are engineered for export and OEM-ready integration, supporting nearshored production flows for U.S. and Canadian partners.

We quote all projects EXW (Ex Works) by default.

    Options include:

    • Referral to a trusted logistics partner for direct contracting

    • Coordinated DAP delivery to designated U.S. border locations

This structure ensures reliable transit, clear cost control, and seamless integration into North American assembly operations.

FAQs

Common questions about our upper program and manufacturing process.

  • We manufacture uppers for outdoor, lineman, logging, hunting, safety, work, and pac-boot applications.

  • Yes. We integrate insulation layers, waterproof membranes, and reinforced constructions for cold-weather and pac-boot applications when required.

  • Absolutely. All uppers are engineered for OEM integration, aligned with nearshoring advantages and North American production workflows. They arrive pre-cut, stitched, and ready for final assembly.

  • Yes, but we do not offer full product design from sketches. We customize existing models through materials, panels, stitch lines, reinforcements, dies, branding elements, and labels to meet brand-specific requirements.

  • Yes. All uppers follow Abucombal’s internal engineering standards, and materials can meet international requirements such as ASTM, ISO, and USMCA eligibility for export and compliance documentation when needed.
